We are glad to present Weather Routing Internatonal (WRI) as official weather provider for the Thousand Islands Race. WRI will be providing forecasts each morning from September 18th through 28th, 2014. These forecasts will be available by visiting this link. In addition, competitors can create their own complimentary trial account for SeaWeather.net, supplemental online service, by visiting this link: This account provides additional forecasting products and charts specific to the Thousand Islands Race.

Thousand Islands Race is now open for multihulls also. Amendment No 1 to the Notice of Race extends eligibility to multihulls possessing valid MOCRA certificate and LOA above 8.00 meters. Furthermore, rating band limits for class split, both in monohull and multihull divisions, will be based on final entry list. Notice of Race together with its amendment can be found here. We are looking forward to see multihulls sailing the course.

After inaugural edition in 2013 of unique offshore race sailed among more than 1000 Adriatic islands, Sailing Club of Rijeka and Porto Montenegro Yacht Club are privileged to announce dates and invite sailors to the second Thousand Islands Race from 18 - 28 September 2014.

The format remains the same with minor course alterations. There are two legs and each boat can choose to race leg 1 only, leg 2 only or both legs. First leg is starting on Sunday, September 21st in front the historic harbour city of Rijeka, Croatia. Race course requires the fleet to leave the islands Unije, Susak, Premuda, Dugi Otok, Kornat, Vis, Lastovo and Sv. Andrija on starboard and finish in front of Porto Montenegro marina in Tivat, Montenegro. Over this distance of about 300 miles, challenge of navigating among the many islands and channels of the Croatian coast and fascinating Boka Kotorska bay await competitors. In return they are awarded by pleasure of sport and stunning region's natural beauty known around the world for its character.

After prize giving party on Wednesday, September 24th, the fleet races back to Rijeka on the same course, starting on Thursday, September 25th, with a prize giving scheduled for Saturday, 28 September in Rijeka.

A short promotional tune-up race is planned in Rijeka on Saturday 20th September and "1000 islands + 2 race" in Boka bay on Wednesday September 24th. Thousand Islands Race already outstanding sailing experience in addition with its social events in Rijeka and Porto Montenegro marina would give good time together, seeing fellow sailors and meeting new friends.

Entries need only be over 9.0 m in length, have an ORC Club or ORC International certificate, and a Stability index greater than 110. Accepted are also double handed, one-design or boats of same type or production model as separate categories. Entry fee discount applies until 31 December 2013.
