Jelačić Sailing another valuable sponsor of the IOM European Championship just presented "Kantun" - its latest IOM design. Designed and built by Robert Grubiša and Zvonko Jelačić it is an IOM design suitable for all range of wind speeds and wave conditions. It comes as a result of sailing experience and extensive research on use of chine and narrow beamed hull on all-round IOM boats. It is our pleasure to present two new sponsors of the IOM European Championship. AA Parts and PG Modelisme are well known brands for IOM boats, equipments, rigs, sails as well as winches and othe RC parts.

They will provide prizes for lottery for competitors every racing days, where each competitor will get some prize. Besides the lottery we are also planning different social events during the championship, details of which will be announced soon.
 

Racing on the IOM European Championship will follow Heat Management System 2007 (HMS) with 6 boats promoted for Race 3 and following Races. Heat selection for Race 1 shall be carried out as follows:
a) The boats will be ranked according to their finishing positions, if any, in the previous IOM European Championship
b) Remaining boats shall be ranked after boats already ranked according to the alphabetical order of the competitor's surname. 

From this list of ranked boats, boats will be sorted into heats in the order: A, B, C, D, E, E, D, C, B, A and so on.
 


 		  


Entries for the IOM European Championship are closed with 5 guest places allocated by IOMICA. There will be maximum of 76 competitors from 19 countries as record number of countries in IOM European Championships so far. Ten competitors remained on the waiting list in case of cancellation of any entered competitor. Among 76 competitors we will have in Cres winners of 11 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medals from previous World and European Championships with competitors coming from: Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and USA. Their boats built in Croatia are fitted to endure any challenge and to win in different weather conditions from club level to top international competitions.
Pikanto boats are built by Robert Grubiša and fine tuned by Zvonko Jelačić with carefully studied and selected weights distribution and appendages position.

New narrow beam project for wide wind speed range is also underway and it will be finished to be ready for IOM European Championship in Cres. Selling of the 3Dmf (3D mono film) IOM sails will start soon and any new sails for IOM European Championship 2012 should be ordered as soon as possible.
 




 		  


Croatian IOM National Class Association has a pleasure to invite you to the 2012 IOM European Championship. Regatta will be held in Town of Cres on island Cres well known for several major IMS/ORC championships.

Racing area will be at the Camp Kovačine on the entrance of beautiful bay of Cres. Boat storage will be provided within the racing area, while accommodation at special discounted prices for competitors is available at Hotel Kimen, just 10 minutes walk from the racing area. Shuttle service form and to the Zagreb Aiprort will be organized for competitors coming by planes.

The maximum number of boats shall be 76 sailing in 5 heats under HMS. The initial closing date shall be August 17th, 2012. Non-European NCAs shall declare their will to send entries before June 17th, 2012. Final allocation of places will take place by the August 31st, 2012.
